Expanded metal, also known as expanded metal fabric, is manufactured from a cold-drawn, slotted steel sheet with various openings. The expanded metal is coated with a layer of asphalt paint that protects it from corrosion.
One of the main uses of expanded metal is for false ceilings and soffits.
